Welcome to Fintro! Fintro is an online community and course designed to help increase accessibility to personal finance education. Each copy of Fintro sold will gift 2 free copies to community partners.

By joining Fintro, you'll learn about budgeting, investing, credit scores, taxes, and more through several simple, easy-to-understand modules.

To help you really understand the content, the course has several quizzes to track your progress along the way, as well as the option to leave comments that the course community members and I will respond to right away.

And best of all, by joining Fintro, you'll have access to a supportive, responsive Slack group with all other Fintro members and course creators to help you along your journey.

Budgeting

One of the major components of personal finance is learning how to approximate your budget. By first understanding where your money is going, you can better understand how to budget appropriately for your needs and how to save and invest the rest.

Investing

Fintro explores the main components of investing, discussing different brokerages, IRAs, 401(k)s, and 529s, while explaining how to begin investing in stocks, ETFs, and bonds. Advanced investment tools such as options and margin are also covered.

Credit Scores

Credit is critical in attaining things you may need now in return for your promise to pay your lender at a later time. Fintro teaches you about what credit scores are, how to maximize your credit health, and how you can even use credit to travel for free!

Taxes

Fintro discusses what taxes are, the different types of taxes in the United States, and practical applications of taxes (i.e. tax withholding, filing taxes, common tax deductions, and tax credits). We also walk through a helpful tax calculator to estimate your taxes.

Community-Requested Modules

In addition to budgeting, investing, credit scores, and taxes as the 4 major components, Fintro will also add user-suggested modules on a variety of topics, ranging from evaluating employment benefits to understanding college financial aid and more.

A Vibrant Slack Community

Teachable also boasts a vibrant Slack community. Ask questions, share successes, and chat with the Fintro community!

Hi, I’m Mihir

Hi! My name is Mihir and I'm a recent graduate from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where I majored in Human Biology and Economics with a minor in Mathematical Finance.

At USC, I had the privilege of teaching a personal finance course through which I learned about how important it is to create a community for people to begin learning about personal finance.

I'm hoping to create this community and an open, approachable learning environment through Fintro and hope that you're able to join me in increasing accessibility to personal finance education.
